    Avoidance of Burnout and Maintaining Wellness in the Addictions and Helping Professions with a special presentation on Wellness.

     This workshop explores burnout in the field of addictions and in the helping professions.  Burnout will be examined and how burnout theory, equity theory and social exchange theory operate within the process of burnout in the workplace. Mindfulness, self-care and various other coping strategies will be explored as a means to potentially avoid burnout and to promote wellness.  A wellness plan will be considered.
