Font and Typeface Guidelines
Governors State University has two official fonts, Trade Gothic and Mook. Consistent use of fonts is very effective in projecting a unified institutional image. Adherence to typeface guidelines helps further establish GSU’s brand while providing a professional look to all printed materials.
It is recommended that the university fonts be used primarily for titles and headlines rather than for body copy, as the recognition and uniqueness of the university fonts are derived from their unique application. Many commonly available typefaces are not appropriate for university publications. Recommended typefaces for body copy include:
- Arial
- Times New Roman
- Garamond
- Optima
- Frutiger
- Bembo
