A Unique Opportunity

See healthcare through the eyes of a researcher. Health Services Researchers are investigators. They study healthcare, determine its strengths, and find solutions for its weaknesses.

With the Health Services Research Certificate from the College of Health and Human Services, you’ll learn how to conduct research effectively — and how to bring that research to bear on real issues in healthcare.

The Certificate in Health Services Research offers a lot more than statistics and research methods. You’ll also receive personalized mentoring from a Health Administration faculty member — a respected and published researcher — to identify your own research interests. You’ll work one-on-one with your mentor as you learn new skills, and you’ll apply those skills to conduct solid and sound research. Finally, with guidance and feedback from your faculty mentor, you’ll take that research and produce a publishable paper on one of the most pressing issues in health care.

The Health Services Research Certificate is offered by the College of Health and Human Services' Department of Health Administration. The Certificate prepares students for entry-level research positions in healthcare through part-time, graduate-level coursework.

The Certificate courses are taught evenings, over two semesters.
