Governors State University is the only regional, public, comprehensive university in
Chicago's south suburban area, serving approximately 7,750 students. GSU provides affordable and accessible undergraduate and graduate education to culturally and economically diverse students with undergraduate tuition that is the most affordable
in the state.

The campus, conveniently located in University Park, Illinois, is characterized by the quiet
of its scenic 760 acre campus amidst vigorous suburban and business growth, towns of character and interest, along with Metra access to the vibrancy of the Chicago Loop,
just 35 miles away. The campus and surrounding community enjoy the excellent cultural offerings of Governors State University's Center for Performing Arts, as well as its acclaimed Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park.

Governors State University is a great place to work.  As we welcome our first freshman
class and become a four-year university, we need talented people like you.

At GSU you’ll find a community of people who look just like you – or nothing at all like you.  And that diversity is one of our strengths. Everybody is welcome here.  In fact, why not meet one of them now.  Nancy Maurer was voted our Employee of the Year.

To join Nancy and our big family – approximately 1,000 employees – look at the jobs currently available, then simply apply online for employment opportunities at GSU.

The Department of Human Resources supports the university community in providing administrative, consultative and support services.  Specific areas of responsibility strategy and policy development, human resources information system, classification and compensation, employment services, salary and wage administration, staff development
and training, benefits enrollment and administration, workers compensation, collective bargaining and employee relations.

Our services are designed to foster effective and efficient use of campus human resources and to promote and support an environment where dignity, ethical conduct and diversity
are valued, employee contributions are recognized and career development is encouraged.
We provide these services to the university community and to the general public.
