Individuals are responsible for arranging transportation between the airport and hotel. There are a variety of shuttle and taxi services available at both Midway and O'Hare airports. 


If you are from the Chicagoland area, or will be staying in one of the many hotels located downtown, Governors State University is easily accessible by the Metra Electric commuter rail line. For travel purposes, downtown hotels are located near the Millennium and Van Buren stations and GSU is off the University Park station. Conference planners are pleased to announce that we will be able to provide shuttle transportation between the Hampton Inn & Suites and campus, and between the University Park Metra stop and campus, throughout the conference. A complete schedule is available in the conference program


Metra trains #111, 117, and 119 on Friday and Saturday will be met by either the GSU shuttle buss or Gender Matters shuttle van. Return trips will depart the GSU main entrance at 4:20, 5:20 and 9:25 on Friday and Saturday. Friday will also have trips at 7:20 and 10:25.  

The conference shuttle van will also pick up folks from the Hampton Inn & Suites at 12:30pm on Friday with return trips leaving the main entrance of campus at 5:00pm and shortly after the conclusion of the Generation Sex performance. On Saturday, the shuttle will pick up at the hotel at 8:30am, with additional trips leaving the main entrance of campus at 1:00pm, 5:45pm, and shortly after the conclusion of the Keynote Address.
