The Division of Communication, Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) works to inspire, engage and guide students, as well as collaborate with colleagues and the people of our region. We partner in the journey of learning through creativity and the production of scholarly and artistic work. We seek to spark the fire of imagination, innovation, and curiosity among lifelong scholars in their pursuits to better themselves and the world.
The CVPA, a division of the College of Arts and Sciences at Governors State University, is comprised of the Division of Digital Learning and Media Design (DLMD), The Center for Performing Arts (CPA), and the Governors State University Visual Art Gallery.
Our undergraduate programs include Bachelor of Arts programs in Communication, Media Studies and a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Additionally, we offer minors in Art, Human Communication, and Theatre and Performance Studies. The CVPA offers students coursework and creative opportunities that will enhance their intellectual experiences across disciplines while contributing to the Public Square that is GSU.
