Overview

The Governors State University Foundation was established in 1968 as the University's primary fundraising division.  Officially incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, the GSU Foundation fosters relationships with philanthropic individuals, GSU Alumni, and numerous corporate and foundation partners on behalf of the University.

Contributions received by the GSU Foundation support academic programs, scholarships for students, faculty development and research, capital improvements to the campus, library acquisitions, technology enhancements, and other special initiatives.

CEO Message

WilliamDavis

As I begin my fourth year at Governors State University, I’ve never been more excited about our future. This remarkable university is continuously evolving to meet the innovations and challenges of the future while maintaining a tradition of excellence, accessibility and community partnership. For over 47 years, our mission has been to inspire meaningful investments into our students. The Governors State University Foundation builds relationships that transform the lives and families of our students while providing dividends to our partners. It is our goal to channel the efforts, interests and capabilities of our more than 50,000 living alumni and friends around the world to better our global society.

As Vice President of Development and CEO of the Foundation, I intend to build on the successes of recent years by working with the campus community, alumni and friends, public and private organizations, and leaders to ensure that GSU remains among the top public universities.

Whether your passion is for scholarships, programs, athletics, alumni support or another area, your annual meaningful investment in GSU provides students and faculty the resources needed to help them achieve their academic ambitions. Please invest in your interest; and to our alumni, your participation adds up to greatness.

Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you desire more information, have questions, or would like to volunteer. We look forward to working in partnership with you as we continue this momentum to transform lives and march towards our 50th Anniversary.

Sincerely,

Will Davis
Vice President of Development
