On-Campus Student Employment As with any job search, there are positions available, but the skill levels and schedule may not match with your experience and availability. The Office of Career Services will assist you in your search for an on-campus graduate assistantship, federal work study, or regular student employment position. We do not guarantee that an on-campus department will hire you.

  • Federal Work-Study or Regular Student Employment Jobs

    You may apply for federal work study jobs once you have completed your FAFSA and have been offered a “Federal Work Study Award.”  All on-campus student employment jobs are posted on the Experience Database System. 

    Six easy steps to apply for on-campus employment (federal work study or regular student employment):

    1. Log on to govst.experience.com to update your profile. 
    2. On the home page, click on “On-Campus Jobs" and  then click on "Federal Work Study" or “Regular Student Employment” to view available job postings. 
    3. Complete a Student Employment Application for each job of interest. 
    4. Submit completed application to hiring manager for position of interest. 
    5. Wait for an interview to be extended from the hiring manager. 
    6. Upon hire, complete your hiring paperwork. All hiring paperwork must be completed in the Financial Aid Office before starting work. 
    You must be logged on to your student portal to access the Experience site. 

  • Graduate Assistantships

    In order to apply for a Graduate Assistantship, you must log into the Experience Database system, complete an application profile, and search for graduate assistant positions. 

    Please follow these six easy steps to apply for graduate assistantships: 

    1. Log on to govst.experience.com to update your profile. 
    2. On the home page, Click on “On-Campus Jobs" and  then click on “Graduate Assistantships” to view available openings.  
    3. Complete a Graduate Assistant/Tuition Waiver Application for each graduate assistant position of interest.  
    4. Submit completed application to the hiring manager for each position of interest.  
    5. Wait for an interview to be extended from the hiring manager.  
    6. Upon hire, complete your hiring paperwork. All hiring paperwork must be completed and returned to the Office of the Dean before starting work.    
    You must be logged on to your student portal to access the Experience site.  

  • Off-Campus Student Employment Jobs

    In addition to on-campus employment, there are off-campus listings available where students may apply.  These off-campus jobs are posted on the Experience Database system. You are allowed to upload your resume, cover letter and other documents, search for off-campus full-time and/or part-time employment or off-campus internships through the Experience website. Students must be logged on to their student portal to utilize the system.  

  • International Students

    International students (F and J visas) must be enrolled as a full-time student for the academic year which is considered Fall and Spring semesters (full time is defined as 12 credit hours for Undergraduate students; 9 credit hours for Master’s students; 6 credit hours for Doctoral students). Please visit the Office of International Services (OIS) website for additional information on policies regarding full time enrollment to maintain legal immigration status for F-1 students.
