Welcome to GSU's inaugural Family and Friends Weekend which is scheduled for October 9-12, 2014. Parents, families and alumni are invited back to campus to join students, faculty and staff in an exciting three-day event celebrating our shared community and this transformative moment in our history.

    The GSU Men's Basketball team will kick off its season with an exhibition game against the Trinity International University Basketball Team in GSU’s gymnasium.

    Come participate in a mock class session in order to have a better idea of what your student experiences in his or her classes.  A free session, but please bring your thinking caps.  Sponsored by The College of Arts and Sciences.

    The children and grandchildren of our GSU student, faculty, and staff community are invited to this special event created just for them!  Listen to stories and enjoy a milk and donut bar for the young and young at heart.  A special welcome to the young children and grandchildren of Dual Degree Program students whether their parent is a GSU DDP alumnus, currently attending GSU, or attending one of our partner community colleges.  (The required adult chaperone can enjoy the donut bar, too!  For you, we'll also have a coffee bar.)  After story hour head over to face painting, the photo booth, and take a dip in the olympic-sized GSU pool!  Sponsored by the GSU Library and the Dual Degree Program.

    National Coming Out Day Celebration

    Join us as we celebrate coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or as an ally.  We will hear stories from the LGBT communities, their families and allies about their experiences.  And, we will learn how to support those who come out.  Refreshments will be served.  ALL are welcome to attend and join the celebration, regardless of sexual orientation.

    Hayride Through Manilow Sculpture Park
    Join Lynda, the Good Witch, for the most spooktacular twenty minutes of the Autumn season!  You'll ride through the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park in a horse-drawn wagon; participate in sing-alongs and hear not-too-scary stories.  An afternoon activity for goblins of all ages!  (Children eight and under must be accompanied by an adult.  Fee is $5 per person.)

    The international students will present facts and descriptions of the culture of their countries.  Participants will receive an ICO passport, which will be stamped for every country visited.  Learn about various cultures while having fun!  Participants will also receive a souvenir.  Sponsored by the International Cultural Organization Club and the Office of International Services.
