University Park, IL, July 22, 2008 - The College of Arts and Sciences at Governors State University will host Dr. Derek Eamus, from the University of Technology Sydney, as part of its ongoing Distinguished Lecture Series. He will present "Leaf to Catchment Scale Fluxes of Water and Carbon: Measurements and Models."
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 12, at 3:30 p.m., in Sherman Recital Hall on the university’s main campus, located at 1 University Parkway, University Park, Illinois.
Dr. Eamus conducted important research on tree responses to climate change, acid rain, and ozone pollution before moving to Australia to examine water and carbon relations of Australian savannahs. He is currently Chair of Environmental Sciences at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, where he heads the Ecohydrology Laboratory. In March, Dr. Eamus was awarded one of only two prestigious Senior Research Fellowships by Land and Water Australia. He has published over 140 research papers and is principle author of the text “Ecohydrology,” published by CSIRO.
