University Park, IL, February 27, 2009 – Governors State University will host a presentation by Monique Caradine Kitchens in honor of Women’s History Month. Kitchens will discuss “Community Empowerment and Today’s Media,” on March 18, at 5 p.m., in E-Lounge.
As a respected media professional and woman’s empowerment advocate, Kitchens strives to, “enrich lives, open minds, and push boundaries.”
Kitchens has worked in media for more than 15 years. She currently specializes in media training and publicity consulting for female executives and entrepreneurs for Momentum Media Group, a company she founded. She is also currently host of a community affairs TV program, “Perspectives.” She is the former award-winning anchor of “Mon in the Midday” on WVON, which was named Best Midday Talk Show in Chicago.
This event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the GSU College of Arts and Sciences’ Distinguished Lecture Series and Lambda Pi Eta, the Communications Honors Society.
