GSU Distinguished Lecturer Michael Diamond to discuss the impact of globalization on the Chicago area

University Park, March 27, 2006 – The College of Arts and Sciences at Governors State University will host guest lecturer Michael Diamond as part of its ongoing Distinguished Lecture Series. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., in Engbretson Hall on the university’s main campus, located at 1 University Parkway, University Park, Illinois.

Diamond will discuss “The Impact of Globalization on Chicago: Challenges and Opportunities.” His lecture will touch on the topics of health, education, liberal arts, and business are interconnected to one another and the topic of globalization.

Michael Diamond is President of World Resources Chicago, a consulting firm which helps businesses and organizations respond to global challenges and opportunities. For more than 25 years, he has worked with refugee, rehabilitation, and socio-economic development programs around the world. Previously, Diamond acted as the Executive Director of The Global Chicago Center of the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations. He is also a lecturer at Northwestern University.
