University Park, IL, June 6, 2007 – The Governors State University Board of Trustees welcomed Elizabeth Green as the new Student Representative at its meeting on June 1. She 
replaces Dwayne Williams who held the position for two years and recently graduated.
Green was selected for the position by the student body in an election held earlier in the year. The Student Representative is the only elected position on the Board. All other members are appointed by the Governor of Illinois. Green will serve a one year term, which expires in July 2008.
“I’m proud to represent the students as a member of the Board of Trustees,” said Green. “This position is important, because it allows the students to have a voice at the highest level of university administration. I look forward to working with my fellow board members to ensure that Governors State University stays committed to the needs of its students.”
Elizabeth Green is currently pursuing her MBA at Governors State and is a resident of Chicago.
