I joined the faculty of College of Business and Public Administration at Governors State University in Fall 2011. I received my Ph.D. in Accounting from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. Before I joined GSU, I was an assistant professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. I teach courses such as Principles of Accounting I & II, Intermediate Accounting I & II, Foundations of Accounting and Finance, Strategic Management Accounting, and Integrative Perspective on Accounting Issues. My research interests include executive audit quality, audit fees, finical reporting and international accounting. My work has been published in Journal of International Finance and Economics and presented at conferences such as the American Accounting Association (AAA)'s Annual Meeting and Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA)’s Annual Meeting.
Teaching - Research - Service
My favorite part about teaching at GSU is to participate in the growth and development of the university. It is an honor to be part of the transformation and to see our university transformed from a two-year upper division university to a four-year full service university providing unlimited opportunities for both students and faculty members.
Working at GSU also provides me the opportunity to serve the university and larger community. I have served on a number of committees within both the college and university, and also am involved in several professional organizations where I provide service to the field.
