Student Health Care Management Association to host lecture on diversity and disparity

GSU’s Student Health Care Management Association will host another in their annual series of spring lectures on Wednesday, April 30, from 6—8 p.m. in Sherman Hall.

This year’s lecture, “Diversity and Disparities in Health Care,” will feature two speakers: Dr. Frederick Hobby and Cynthia Washington.

Dr. Frederick Hobby is president and CEO for the Institute for Diversity in Health Management, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association. IFD is a non-profit organization that works closely with health service organizations and educators to expand leadership opportunities for ethnic minorities in health services management.

Cynthia Washington is director of member relations at the American Hospital Association. The AHA is a professional association that seeks to promote quality healthcare provision by hospitals and health care networks through public policy and by providing information about healthcare/health administration to health care providers and the public.
