The Illinois Board of Higher Education has appointed GSU’s associate provost, Dr. Sandra Mayfield, to the board of the program for Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois. Her responsibilities include reviewing fellowship applications and attending board meetings approximately three times per year. The purpose of the program is to increase faculty diversity in Illinois by increasing the number of minority, full-time tenure track faculty and staff in the state’s two- and four-year public and private institutions.
