Best-selling novelist and attorney to give guest lecture

Acclaimed novelist and attorney Scott Turow will present a guest lecture, “How I Got to be Two Things Friday, May 16 at 3 p.m. in Sherman Music Hall.

Turow is a best-selling author and attorney. He has written 10 works of fiction, including his first novel "Presumed Innocent," and the sequel, "Innocent," published in 2010. His latest novel, "Identical," was published in 2013. He has also written two non-fiction books about his experiences practicing law. Since 1986, Mr. Turow has been a partner in the Chicago office of Dentons, (formerly Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal), an international law firm, where he concentrates on white-collar criminal defense. He is a member of the Illinois Executive Ethics Commission, of which he was the first chair, and served as a member of the Illinois Commission on Capital Punishment, whose recommendations led to substantial reforms of the Illinois death penalty.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
