Take a moment. Take the test, and honestly evaluate your responses.

  1. Do you find it personally rewarding to help others overcome barriers to their achievement?
  2. Are you genuinely sensitive to what others are experiencing?
  3. Are you able to listen attentively, and intuitively, to those who look to you for guidance?
  4. Are you comfortable working in a cooperative, team environment?
  5. Are you patient when others aren’t?
  6. Are you able to adjust and adapt to changing situations?
  7. Are your own communication skills – verbal and writing – well-developed?
  8. Are you able to employ critical reasoning skills?
  9. Do you have an aptitude for science and intellectual challenges?

If your answer to these questions is yes, speech-language pathology may be the career you’re looking for.
