Photo - Student - Gayle, LaShandaBy the time I entered the Doctorate of Occupational Therapy program, I had already practiced for nine years in the following areas with geriatric clients:

  • Outpatient
  • Rehabilitation
  • Acute care
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Home health

Why I chose GSU:

I achieved my Master's in Occupational Therapy in 2000 from GSU. I thoroughly enjoyed the teaching and support from all professors during the master's program.

When I heard that GSU was offering an Occupational Therapy Doctorate program, there was no other choice for me. GSU was my choice for pursuing my advanced degree. The skills and knowledge of the Occupational Therapy faculty are exceptional.

With the DrOT degree I plan to:

Upon completion of the Doctorate Program, I plan to work as a Certified Aging in Place Specialist in the field of Occupational Therapy. My goal is to help provide seniors an opportunity to live independently within their home and community.
