Run 4 Rehab Proceeds
Funds raised from the Run 4 Rehab will benefit the world of physical therapy in two ways: the PTSA and the Pittsburgh-Marquette Challenge.
The Miami-Marquette Challenge is a national competition between physical therapy schools to raise money. That money is then distributed as research grants to physical therapists around the country.
The PTSA is a student-run association at Governors State University. Its purpose is to familiarize and enhance the students with knowledge of and participation in professional organizations such as the American Physical Therapy Association, Illinois Physical Therapy Association, and other physical therapy-related special interest groups. It does this by developing and augmenting leadership skills, promoting service learning, and enhancing students’ and the public knowledge of the physical therapy profession and Governors State University’s physical therapy program.
If you choose to, there are several ways to show your support for this event.
The first is through participation; register online at www.active.com.
The second option is by sponsoring a runner. This allows a person who is unable to participate either because of physical or time limitations to support the PTSA and allow someone else the chance to participate. Persons can either choose who they want to sponsor or the PTSA will provide them with a participant.
