Accreditation and Licensure
Governors State University's Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervison Program is fully accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Governors State University is also accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
Our Master of Arts in Counseling sequences are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
Students graduating with our masters in counseling or the doctorate degree may apply for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
