Wimba Live Classroom
GSU offers Wimba Live Classroom, an online conferencing software. Faculty and
students may use it in conjunction with Blackboard 9.1 courses to facilitate
office hours or other between-class communication needs, to accommodate guest
lecturers, or to serve as a communication tool for students working together on
small group projects or in study groups.
Wimba Live Classroom
Live Classroom lets you:
- connect with classmates in a simultaneous online classroom session
- communicate with real time voice and video
- poll, quiz and survey the class
- demonstrate complex software applications, "live"
- share applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Flash, PDF, web pages
- pass control to students, and show one's desktop to others in the group
- use an advanced electronic whiteboard
- present a slideshow in real time
- send and read instant text messages in real time
- record sessions that can be viewed later

To add Wimba Live to your course:
On the Course Homepage, in Build mode, click the Add Content Link. Select Live
Classroom from the list. Click the Create Live Classroom button. You will be guided
through the process on a series of screens, on which you will select options for your
classroom.
