Summer 2012 Financial Aid

Summer financial aid is extremely limited. A student's financial aid eligibility is limited to remaining Pell Grant and/or Federal Direct Loan. If you received a Pell Grant as a full-time student (12 or more hours for fall and spring) you do not have any Pell Grant eligibility for the summer. Only students enrolled less than full-time for the academic year (fall 2011 and/or spring 2012) have remaining Pell Grant eligibility for summer 2012.

To be considered for summer financial aid you must:

1. Have a 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file
2. Enroll or plan on enrolling at least on a half-time basis during the summer session, as loan eligibility is contingent upon half-time status. Half-time status is as follows:
   • 6 credits undergraduates
   • 6 credits graduates
   • 3 credits doctoral
    
3. Complete the Summer 2012 Financial Aid Request Form.

Summer processing will begin on March 1, 2012. You will receive a summer financial aid award letter in the mail to accept or reject your awards. You will also be able to access your awards through the myGSU portal. You can view, accept or reject your awards online.
