Electronic Reserves Policy
Governors State University Library
Approved June 11, 2007
Purpose
This policy supplements the Reserve Guidelines policy.
The University Library no longer offers electronic reserves, because the library does not have the staff or the resources to pursue copyright permission for the variety of digital objects requested by faculty to be placed on electronic reserves or to pay royalty fees where required. Most faculty members who used electronic reserves did not supply the requested documentation that they had secured copyright permission. In place of electronic reserves through the library, faculty members can set up electronic course packs using XanEdu through the GSU Bookstore. XanEdu secures copyright permission for all materials placed in its electronic course packs.
