Employment Workshops

The Office of International Services offers workshops for F-1 & J-1 students regarding their employment rights and benefits in the United States. Here are the employment workshop dates for Spring 2013:

March 28th- Optional Practical Training Workshop in D3345 at 10:00 am - 11:00 am 

In collaboration with Career Services we will be presenting a workshop on the process on how to file for Optional Practical Training, work authorization granted through USCIS for a period of 12 months. Find out about when to file, what you need to submit, and regulations specifically pertaining to Optional Practical Training including the 90 days of unemployment rule. Career Services will be presenting on the topic of Building a Resume.

 

April 9th- Optional Practical Training Workshop in C3330 at 10:00 am- 11:00 am 

In collaboration with Career Services we will be presenting a workshop on the process on how to file for Optional Practical Training, work authorization granted through USCIS for a period of 12 months. Find out about when to file, what you need to submit, and regulations specifically pertaining to Optional Practical Training including the 90 days of unemployment rule. Career Services will be presenting on the topic of Job Search Strategies.

 

April 15th- Optional Practical Training Workshop in D34060 at 2:00 pm- 3:00 pm 

In collaboration with Career Services we will be presenting a workshop on the process on how to file for Optional Practical Training, work authorization granted through USCIS for a period of 12 months. Find out about when to file, what you need to submit, and regulations specifically pertaining to Optional Practical Training including the 90 days of unemployment rule. Career Services will be presenting on the topic of Interviewing.
