Family and Friends Weekend — October 6-7, 2017

Families, friends, alumni, community members, and visitors are invited to GSU's annual Family and Friends Weekend, the time of year where we all come together to experience GSU Jaguar Life. If your schedule permits, join us for Spirit Week events that lead up to Family and Friends Weekend.

Family and Friends Weekend also provides a special opportunity for families to have an extended visit with students filled with family and community oriented programs and events, and share firsthand in their student's GSU experience.

 Monday, October 2, Wheel of Fortune Game (sponsored by CAS),  HOG, 11:30 am  

 Join the College of Arts and Sciences in the Hall of Governors today at 11:30 am for the Wheel of Fortune Game.

 

Monday, October 2, Jaguar Jamboree (sponsored by Rec & Fitness), GYM, 5:00 pm  

Be sure to attend the Jaguar Jamboree in the GYM at 5:00 pm.  Women basketball starts at 5:30 pm and the men will play at 6:15 pm. Come out and cheer on our basketball stars! 

 

Tuesday, October 3, Athletics Family & Friends Night,  GYM, 6pm(Time & Location Change)  Introduction of GSU Athletic Teams, meet Mr. & Ms. GSU finalists, Free t-shirts given to the first 50 people, and Jax will provide mystery giveaways.

Wednesday, October 4, Dusk on the Prairie (sponsored by Prairie Place), 4pm, Heliport(behind the Center for Performing Arts)  LIVE Fire Spinners and refreshments.

This year GSU students will present the Open MIC -- Student Talent Showcase on Friday, October 6, 7-10 pm in Sherman Recital Hall.  Sponsored by:  Writers Union Student Club, Student Senate, and the Student Activities Council.

Don't miss the GSU University Honors Program Pinning Ceremony, Saturday, October 7 at 11:30 am.

The College of Health and Human Services will present the CDIS Reunion 2017: Reunite, Celebrate, Empower, Saturday, October 7 at 4:00 pm.

The Center for Performing Arts will be feature the 3rd annual city-wide Stomping Grounds Rhythm Festival on Saturday, October 7 at 8pm.

    Bounce over to the Family Development Center for our Open House!  Stop by the Family Development Center to see the award-winning accredited center where GSU Early Childhood Education students learn their craft.  Your children can play on the playground, in the gym, and in classrooms.  Fun for ages birth to five! The College of Education is sponsoring the Bounce House for our young visitors at the Family Development Center.
