What technology do I need to take an online course?
If you have never taken an online course before, you will need an up-to-date computer, with a Windows or Mac operating system. The following are recommended:
Microsoft Windows (Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 operating system),
Macintosh OSX (10.6) or above)
You will also need a high-speed Internet connection (such as AT&T, Comcast, or Wi-Fi). In some classes that utilize web-conferencing, a headset may also be required.
Install more than one web browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are recommended).
You will also need Plugins, such as Java, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a Flash player, etc.
For a list of compatible browsers and plugins required, please see Blackboard Help.
