The College of Health and Human Services regularly holds information sessions or open houses designed to introduce prospective students to its degree or certificate programs. There is no better way to learn about our programs than attending one of these events. You’ll have an opportunity to meet with the faculty who actually teach the courses, and you’ll be able to ask questions about prerequisites, degree requirements and the profession itself. Upcoming information sessions are listed below.

2014 Schweitzer Fellows Program — Informational Session for Graduate Students

On Monday, November 10, 2014, from 3 to 4 p.m. in Room D 34050, Mr. Ray Wang of the Schweitzer Fellow (Chicago) Program will speak to interested graduate students in the College of Health and Human Services about the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship program.

The Chicago Area Schweitzer Fellows Program supports graduate students committed to becoming "leaders in service" — individuals who are dedicated and skilled in addressing the health needs of underserved populations, and whose example influences and inspires others. Each year, the Fellowship selects up to 30 graduate students from multiple schools and health-related disciplines, each of whom designs and implements their own 200-hour community service project that will help underserved Chicago communities improve their health and well-being.

In addition to their community projects, Fellows also work together to plan symposia and service days, and meet regularly to network, share ideas and learn from guest speakers. Fellows receive a $2,500 stipend for their participation, and must be enrolled in a graduate program through Spring, 2016 to be eligible.

Applications are due February 1, 2015. To learn more about the Fellowship and to apply online, please visit:  Please contact Ray Wang, Program Director, with any questions at
