Harry Rhodes Bio
Harry Rhodes is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Growing Home, Chicago's leading organic agriculture social enterprise focused on empowering people and communities. Growing Home's USDA certified organic farms serve as the foundation for the organization's three goals: to provide job training and placement for hard to employ individuals; to create better food access in Chicago; and to advocate for healthy and sustainable food systems locally and nationally.
Mr. Rhodes is one of the founders of Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA) and is currently Co-Chair of the organization's Steering Committee. Mr. Rhodes has served as a Director on the Illinois Local Food, Farms and Jobs Council since 2012. Mr. Rhodes received the Chicago Community Trust Experienced Leader Fellowship in 2013.
Mr. Rhodes has a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Wisconsin, and has been working as an Executive Director in the Non-Profit Sector since 1987. He managed several leading Jewish-Arab Coexistence organizations in Israel from 1987-2001, when he moved back to his native Chicago.
Thea Polancic Bio
Thea Polancic is a passionate advocate for the power of business as a force for good in the world. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Chicago Chapter of Conscious Capitalism, Inc. (www.consciouscapitalismchicago.org). The Chicago Chapter is the first in North America with almost 1000 members. Under her leadership, the Chicago Chapter produces programs for the general public and private events for senior executives who are committed to leading organizations that are both purpose-driven and highly profitable.
Thea is also the Managing Partner of ClearSpace, LLC (www.clearspace.net), a Chicago-based consulting firm that helps leaders, teams and organizations grow and thrive. Over the past 15 years, Thea has worked closely with business leaders and their teams to align themselves with the principles of Conscious Capitalism: having a higher purpose, creating value for all stakeholders, developing servant leaders, and having healthy, values-based cultures. Her firm's clients include AllState, The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, The Museum of Contemporary Art, NiSource, SP Plus and WTTW.
Thea is on the Advisory Board of the newly launched Conscious Venture Lab in Columbia, Maryland; an accelerator for early stage conscious capitalist and purpose-driven companies. As a mentor to the CVL and other accelerators she gets to help early stage entrepreneurs create businesses that are "great from the start".
