There are many types of loans available to you. Loans are funds that are borrowed to help pay for you education expenses. Loans must be repaid, usually with interest.


A grant is a form of financial aid that does not require repayment. At GSU, you’ll find both the federal and state grants that may be available to help pay for your education.

Financial Aid and Benefits for Veterans

If you are a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, on active military duty or a dependent of a veteran, you may be eligible for certain categories of financial assistance from the State Of Illinois or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
