GSU Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) Workshops
Location: Governors State University
Day: Wednesday June 8 and Thursday, 9, 2016 - register for either session or both
Time: 9 am - 4 pm
Fee: $50 for one day, or $75 for both days. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The College of Business (COB) at Governors State University (GSU) will offer a Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) workshops in June 2015. The workshop is designed to help faculty who teach business, social sciences and other related subjects bring international content into the classroom and expand their classroom knowledge and skills.
These workshops are led by COB faculty who are content experts on the relevant topics. The program is sponsored by a US Department of Education grant and is offered at minimum cost to participants.
A “Certificate of Completion” will be presented to the participants who successfully complete the program.
The summer 2016 workshops will feature two modules:
- Wednesday, June 8
Business and Labor Management in the Changing Global Environment (Dr. Stephen Wagner)
o Business Communications in a Global Context
o Cutting Edge Findings from the Science of Global Management
o Labor Practices and Employment Laws in Various Nations
o Change Management in Multinational Organizations
o The Business of Global Sustainability
- Thursday, June 9
Accounting and Finance in the Global Marketplace (Dr. Carlos Ferran)
o Financial Regulations around the World
o Accounting Standards in the Global Marketplace
o Accounting and Business Ethics
Registration is $50 for one day, or $75 for both days. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
