Welcome Message
I am excited to work at GSU as your Coordinator for Veterans and Military Personnel. I previously held positions as a certified school teacher, marine and college professor. I am committed to helping student veterans and students alike prepare for dynamic leadership roles in their professions and in their communities. My goal is to make you feel welcomed from the moment you come into my office. I look forward to working with you as you inspire to reach your goals.

About SALUTE: Establishment of this veterans' honor society was funded by the
ACE/Wal-Mart Success for Veterans Grant awarded to Colorado State
University in 2009. SALUTE is the first national honor society
established for student veterans and military in 2-year and 4-year
institutions of higher education. One unique element of our honor
society includes the 4 tier system which is designed to encourage
student veterans to strive to improve their GPAs and advance to higher
tier levels in the honor society during their academic careers.
Application Process
Governors State University waives the application fee for veterans and service members. Please follow these steps to make sure that the application process is completed successfully:
- Print, complete, and sign the undergraduate or graduate application
- Mail or fax the completed application along with your military ID or form DD214 to the Coordinator for Veterans and Military personnel at

- To check the status of your application, contact the Admission Processing Office at 708.235.7663.
After completing the application process, please follow these steps to prepare for course registration:
- Complete the online orientation
- Contact your chosen degree program to arrangement an initial advisement appointment
- Refer to the catalog and academic calendar for registration dates and deadlines
- Access your online account to select courses, register, and view your progress report
Instructions for applying for financial aid assistance can be found on our Veterans Education Assistance page. The Office of Financial Aid is part of the Enrollment Management Division at GSU, and can be contacted for further information. For questions regarding your education benefits contact the Veterans resource Center at 708.235-7597 and ask for the Coordinator of Veterans Affairs.

Resources for Active Duty Military
Governors State University's School of Extended Learning provides assistance to active duty military in the form of distance learning courses. Servicemembers have the opportunity to complete a bachelor's degree by combining their military credit with previously completed college credit.

Governors State University has several degree programs which accept military credit. Follow these links to have your military transcript sent to GSU.
