Alumni Association Membership
The GSU Alumni Association strives to offer the best benefits to our alumni. Alumni can take free computer workshops, receive discount services, take advantage of GSU’s career services, and much more. The GSU Alumni Association has three levels of membership – Basic, Premium, and Lifetime. Benefits are listed below for each category.
Announcing our new Partner Discount Program

Membership Levels
There are three types of Alumni Association membership - free Basic Member status, supporting Premium Member status and Life Member status.
Basic Alumni Membership
All GSU alumni receive a free basic membership in the Alumni Association. Benefits included in this membership level are:
- Monthly Alumni e-connections newsletter. If you are not currently receiving our monthly newsletters, please provide us with your email address. Call Alumni Relations at 708.534.4128 or email alumnirelations2@govst.edu and say you want to receive the newsletter
- Membership in alumni clubs of your choice
- Free workshops on campus. For a complete list of upcoming classes, visit the Library website. Upcoming classes are announced in our monthly Alumni e-connections newsletter
- Access to University Library (computer use now requires guest log-in from the Reference Desk)
- Access to Career Services
- Find-a-Friend services
- Invitations to alumni events
- Use of the on campus cyber café (requires guest log-in from Library Reference Desk)
Premium Alumni Membership
We are excited to announce the addition of our new annual premium membership category with enhanced membership benefits.
When you make a donation of $50 or more, made payable to the GSU Foundation/Alumni Association, you are joining a large group of individuals who share a common interest – staying connected with your alma mater! Your donation assists the Alumni Association in providing programs and services for alumni and the university. By earmarking your donation to the Alumni Association, you are helping build relationships and keeping alumni connected to the university.
In addition, you will receive a premium membership in the Alumni Association. Not only do you receive enhanced benefits, but your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extend allowed by law.
Benefits of the annual premium alumni membership include:
- All of the basic membership benefits listed above, plus
- In-library use of GSU Library resources, including check-out privileges of printed materials and some media items
- NEW - Partner Discounts
- Hard copy of the annual alumni magazine
- 40 percent savings off a campus Recreation Fitness Center membership
- 15 percent discount on tickets at The Center for Performing Arts
- Voting privileges and qualification to seek office in the Alumni Association

Life Membership
Life Member status is available with a $650 donation earmarked for Alumni Association use. Payments can be made toward life member status. Donations made after March 1, 2010 which are designated for Alumni Association use will accumulate toward life member status. Once these donations reach a total of $650, you will receive “Life Member” status in the Alumni Association. Life Members receive the same benefits awarded the Premium Members plus special invitations and offers from time to time.
New Student Membership
All GSU students can now sign up for a free basic membership in the Alumni Association. Benefits included in this membership level are:
- Monthly Alumni e-connections newsletter
- Ability to join any of the alumni clubs of your choice
- Receive announcements to attend Free workshops on campus. Upcoming classes are announced in the monthly Alumni e-connections newsletter
- Find-a-Friend services
- Invitations to alumni events
- Opportunities to network with alumni
- Mentoring opportunities available
