Master of Arts Educational Administration: Empowering Leadership
The Master of Arts program in Educational Administration provides the background and specific knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for a career as:
Principal Leadership*:
The program is fully approved by the Illinois State Board of Education to prepare you for the Illinois Principal Endorsement on your current teaching license.
- Elementary or secondary school principal
- Curriculum consultant, Dean or Department chairperson (Teacher Leader - COMING SOON!)
Chief School Business Official*:
The program is fully approved by the Illinois State Board of Education to prepare you for the Illinois CSBO Endorsement.
Higher Education Administration:
- Administrative and professional positions in colleges and universities
*Certifcate only options available for those who already hold a Master of Arts degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Certification and Endorsement
Completion of the Principal Leadership program (and compliance with other requirements presented in the "Teacher Certification" section of the Governors State University Catalog) leads to the Illinois Principal Endorsement on your current teaching license. Individuals applying for the certificate or the endorsement are subject to state testing requirements.
NOTE: A Chief School Business Official variation of the program is available for eligible candidates. Contact an academic advisor for eligibility information.
