Pre-Occupational Therapy (OT) Track
The Bachelor of Health Science (BHS) degree in Community Health from Governors State University (GSU) is designed to provide you with the broad-based educational background you’ll need to design and implement programs that increase the quality, availability, and effectiveness of health and wellness promotions.
The ultimate goal is improved quality of life for aging adults and specific communities, especially those vulnerable to healthcare disparities.
You’ll also have a valuable background in one of the most significant healthcare issues of our time: the planning and development of health promotion and wellness programs for Americans, especially the growing elderly and the underserved populations.
With a BHS degree in Community Health from GSU, you will be perfectly positioned to teach your clients how to lead a healthy lifestyle, as well as help them adapt to their injury or disability.
After graduating from the Pre-OT track of the BHS degree in Community Health, you can apply for a more advanced degree in your chosen field.
After completing a 24-credit core curriculum in the major, students will take a rigorous curriculum of science courses that will provide them with the skill set they need to pursue a professional degree.
