Black, Blue and Beyond will be presented in conjunction with Black and Blue podcast play by MPAACT (Ma'at Production Association of Afrikan Centered Theatre). Black and Blue (streaming November 2-15) explores the conflicted allegiance of two Black Chicago police officers, following the aftermath of the release of the video depicting the killing of Laquan McDonald.

This conversation will further explore the relationship and tensions between the Black Lives Matter movement and law enforcement, as well as what it means to be in law enforcement and Black. Our Dynamic panel will represent different as well as intersecting perspectives: Black and Blue director Andrea Diamond; retired Chicago homicide detective and foster parent Gerald Hamilton; actor, writer, and former police officer J. David Shanks. Moderated by GSU criminal justice faculty Professor Almethia Franklin.
