M. Evans, DBA, MS-HLP
Dr. Evans has over 20-years of practical experience in
healthcare administration and served multiple health systems as an agent of
change. With a strong background in program
development, strategic/business planning, process improvement, and change
management, she works on complex problems to
transform services in alignment with stakeholder demands. She is also accomplished in relationship-based
strategies to build long-term partnerships with shared goals. Dr. Evans functioned at the executive level for health systems developing
strategies to engage/align leaders and physicians toward organizational and
community priorities. She is
accomplished in market analysis, research, and intelligence; evaluating viable
solutions and programs based on organizations capabilities and market/community
needs. In addition, she has a broad knowledge
of medical group networks, ancillary services, managed care/insurance
organizations, post-acute care, health information systems, and federally
qualified health care organizations. Among
the health systems Dr. Evans worked for includes: Advocate Health Care,
Methodist Hospitals, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, and Northwestern Memorial
Hospital.
In 2017, Dr. Evans earned her
Doctor of Business Administration degree; with a specialization in Health Administration
from Northcentral University. Her
research interests involve business process change, operational improvements, policy
development for health service disparities, and leadership training (including physician
leadership development). She also has a
background in health law and policy. She
earned her masters from DePaul University, College of Public Service Management
in 2002.
Dr. Evans is passionate in
enhancing the healthcare leadership pipeline through teaching and mentoring. Dr. Evans is a proponent of life-long
learning and currently serves as the Director of Communications for Chicago
Health Executive Forum (CHEF), which is the Chicagoland chapter of the American
College of Health Service Executives (ACHE).
She formally served on the Regent’s Advisory Council Educational
Programming committee with ACHE in early and mid-2000. In addition, she held several leadership
roles for the Metro Chicago chapter of the National Association of Health
Service Executives (NAHSE). She
functioned as a preceptor to aspiring healthcare leaders for 14-years. Dr. Evans is delighted that all her students
transitioned into successful leadership careers.
Dr. Evans also volunteers her time toward community ventures. She co-chaired the Healthcare Council for the
Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce for eight years. In addition, she serves the Illinois Alliance
for Health Equity – on the Chicago and Cook County Community and Hospital
Cooperative Policy Committee; and the Social and Structural Determinants of
Health Committee.
