Occupational Therapy

I have been teaching at Governors State University since 1996.  I have always enjoyed educating and preparing students to embark on a career in occupational therapy.  It is rewarding to see them succeed in our rigorous academic program, and to know that they will be colleagues in our profession.

I graduated from Rush University in 1987 with my Masters in Occupational Therapy.  Since that time, I have worked in numerous settings with a variety of populations.  My primary area of practice has been in Behavioral Health.  I have worked primarily with children and adolescents with a myriad of mental health issues.  My clinical practice included providing therapy services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  I have vast experience in program development, group and individual therapy, and clinical education of students.

Throughout my time at GSU I have served as the Program Admission Chair.  This position requires me to spend a great deal of time meeting with prospective students to facilitate application to our Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) Program and ultimately to a career in occupational therapy.

I also serve as the MOT Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) Faculty Advisor, and I am a current member of the MOT Advisory Board.
