Interinstitutional Waiver - If you are an employee of another state school, and are interested in enrolling for credit at Governors State University, please contact your HR Department to find out if you qualify, and how to apply for an Interinstitutional Waiver (covers up to 6 hours per semester).
Special Education Tuition Waiver
- Available to undergraduate and graduate students who are Illinois residents seeking initial certification in an area of special education. Students must agree to teach in special education upon graduation. The waiver covers tuition and fees. Details are available through the
Illinois Student Assistance Commission - SETTW Program

Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver
- If you are a senior citizen, and meet certain income criteria, you may qualify for a Senior Citizen Waiver. The Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver covers
tuition only
for up to six credit hours per semester.
Students are responsible for the payment of all additional fees.
