We’re excited to honor the achievements, resilience, and bright futures of our graduating class alongside proud families, friends, alumni, and the Jaguar community. Note: The times listed above are ceremony start times—not graduate arrival times. Graduates must arrive prior to their ceremony for check-in and lineup to avoid missing participation their ceremony.

Governors State University is hosting the Sharing the Dream Conference, bringing together educators, administrators, and advocates focused on supporting undocumented students. Through thoughtful speakers, practical tools, and real conversations, participants will connect with others who care deeply about access, opportunity, and student success. It’s a space to learn together and leave with practical ways to support students.

Free People’s University: Telling Our Stories, Casting Our Futures

Date: Sunday, May 31, 2026
Time: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: Social Justice Building, Governors State University

Explore urgent issues of domestic violence, housing insecurity, and incarceration through student-led presentations that center lived experience and critical analysis, followed by a live-streamed performance from Logan Correctional Center. Engage in a facilitated Q&A that connects community voices, professional insight, and restorative dialogue. This free event is open to alumni, practitioners, and community members committed to learning across systems. Lunch is provided and no registration is required.

Celebrate Pride with the ThunderBolts

Celebrate Pride Month with a fun night out at the ballpark! Join Governors State University and the Windy City ThunderBolts for a special fundraiser supporting the Jackie McKethen Scholarship for LGBTQIA+ students.

Tickets are just $9 and include a $5 donation toward the scholarship. Enjoy $2 concessions and free parking while supporting a meaningful cause.

We look forward to honoring the Distinguished Alumni Class of 2026 at GovState, celebrating alumni and emeriti whose work has shaped and strengthened their communities. Join us for a Jaguar Homecoming tradition at GovState's Annual Jaguar 5K! Lace up for a chip-timed adventure through Governors State University's scenic campus. Whether you're running or walking, come enjoy live music, food trucks, free yoga, a Kids Dash, and more, all sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. All participants receive a custom t-shirt and snacks, so register early to secure your size.
