This is our current English Language Learning Center Student Handbook. It details a variety of helpful information for our current students, including services available to assist current students, contact information for ESL Program staff and faculty, and more.
ELLC Payment and Refund Policy
ELLC Payment Policy:
- ELLC students will be responsible for $5,500 tuition on the first day of
the semester, and
- Students are responsible to make a full payment by the 4th day
of the classes or make a payment plan with GSU Business Office.
ELLC Refund Policy:
- 100% refund will be issued If withdrawn by the end of the first week of
the class,
- 50% refund will be issued if withdrawn by the end of the 2nd
week of class, and
- No refund will be issued after 2nd week.
MyGSU is your main portal to all of the tools you need for success at Governors State University. It contains access to your student email, BlackBoard, news about current events on campus, and more. Be sure to click this link to view your MyGSU page.
BlackBoard allows students to complete and submit assignments online, and is an essential component of coursework in the ESL Program. Be sure to check BlackBoard regularly if you are a current student.
Office of International Services
The Office of International Services can assist International Students on a variety of issues. It also holds many events and off-campus excursions for International Students throughout the semester, so be sure to contact this department during your attendance with the English Language Learning Center.
Governors State University offers a Shuttle Bus Service with the GSUXpress. The GSUXpress makes regular trips between the University Housing units, local Metra train station, and local area Walmart stores. More information can be found on the GSUXpress site.
