This year's theme is First-Gen Fest, and we have a lot in store for you! Information on upcoming events will also be available via the InsideGovState newsletter.

Upcoming First-Gen Fest Events

  • First-Gen Fest Faculty/Staff Walk Of Fame November 3rd| 8 a.m. – November 8, 2025| D Atrium
    • Celebrate the achievements of our first-gen faculty and staff as they inspire and empower students with their stories of success. Their stories show first-gen students that success is not only possible, it thrives right here on campus within our university family.
  • First-Gen Fest Act I: Make It Monday November 3rd| 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.|D1490
    • Kick off First-Gen Fest with a creative afternoon of crafting and connection! Whether you want to unwind, make something fun, or just hang out with fellow first-gen students, this is the perfect way to set the vibe for an exciting week ahead.
  • First-Gen Fest Act II: Uno-fficial Showdown November 4th|12:30 – 2 p.m.|D1490
    • Do you have a “Draw 4”? Join us for an UNO tournament filled with laughs, strategy, and friendly competition. Who will walk away as the UNO champion of First-Gen Fest? Bring your best moves and claim your bragging rights.
  • First-Gen Fest Act III: VIP Swag Giveaway November 5th|12:00 – 2:30 p.m.|C1321
    • Nothing says First Gen Fest like free swag! Stop by, rep your first-gen pride, and grab some exclusive First-Gen swag while supplies last.
  • First-Gen Fest Act IV: First-Gen Movie Night November 6th|4:30 – 6:30 p.m.|B1200
    • Come celebrate National First-Gen. Day with a movie night hosted by the First-Generation Center and the First-Gen. Collective. Grab some snacks and enjoy Get Out (2017) with your fellow first-gen students! It’s the perfect way to relax, recharge, and connect for the grand finale of First-Gen Fest.
