A Day ON not a DAY OFF

 Monday, January 16, 2017, Sherman Recital Hall, 10:30 am.

 Join us on campus for a  day of reflection, growth, and service as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. featuring Pamela Bates Porch as the keynote speaker.  All attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable canned good to donate to the Mobile Food Pantry.

The Mobile Food Pantry will immediately follow the commemorative program with students helping to distribute food to families in need.  Food will be distributed to those in need within the University Park community. 

The event is sponsored by Student Life and the University Park MLK Committee

Farmers Market- Thursday September 29th and Thursday October 13th 11:00am-5:00pm– Community Vendors will gather in outside in front of the GSU main entrance provide natural and organic products to the students. For more information contact: civicengagement@govst.edu.

University Wide Service Day – Friday, October 14, 2016 9:00am-2:00pm.  Students will serve at the Pacific Garden Home community center.  Lunch and Transportation will be provided.  For more information contact:  civicengagement@govst.edu.

University Wide Service Day- October 24th, 2016. 5:00pm-7:00pm  Students will gather at Crete-Monee to do service.

Bands for Awareness – Monday, November 14th, 2016.12:00pm-3:00pm Students will receive armbands in the Hall of Governors to bring awareness to Hunger and Homeless week.

Lunch For A Cause Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 11:00am- 1:00pm. Lunch will be served in the Student Commons.  All students that donate a can good for the food pantry will receive lunch.

Home Ownership Talk – November 16th, 2016. 6:00pm-7:00pm Banking professionals from the community will come out and have a panel set up conversation about how to become home owners.

Game of Life – November 17th, 2016.7:30pm-9:00pm GSU’s students budget skills will be put to the test with this interactive version of the board game Life.

University Wide Service Day – Friday, November, 18th, 2016. Chicago Food Depository 9:00am- 11:45am. Students will complete service at a local food depository

University Wide Service Day-  Saturday, November 19th, 2016. 9:45am-11:45am  Restoration Ministries. Students will complete service at a local food depository
