Dr. Kresse is an Associate Professor in the Accounting,
Finance, MIS, and Economics Division of the College of Business at
Governors State University. He earned a J.D. from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of
Illinois Chicago. He is also a Commissioner on the Chicago Board of Election
Commissioners. His research focuses on the intersection of elections, auditing
and fraud examination, and the enhancement of voter confidence in
elections. He teaches courses in Fraud Examination, Auditing, and Accounting.
He was named an Unsung Hero of Democracy by the American Bar Association, and
Educator of the Year by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners;
he co-hosted a radio program on WGN Radio Chicago, co-authored a regular
column for the New York Times Online, and published in Issues
in Accounting Education, The Journal of Academic
Administration in Higher Education, and The Journal of
Learning in Higher Education.
