Welcome from the Dean of
the College of Health and Human Services!
Dean's Message 2024
Welcome to the College of Health and Human Services at
Governors State University. We are
preparing a healthcare workforce that understands the social and environmental
determinants of health and is committed to advancing justice through improving
health equity. Our College is embedded
in the health, education, and social services communities of the greater
Chicagoland area, and has rich connections to diverse communities in the
Chicago Southlands. Our faculty work
together across disciplines to provide students with experiences that develop
the inter-professional practice competencies necessary to solve today’s complex
human health problems. We support our faculty in developing a strengths-based
perspective and modern teaching skills needed for training the next generation
of health and social services professionals to be culturally aware,
trauma-informed advocates for their patients, clients, families and
communities. Whether you are a current or prospective student, aspiring
professional, or valued member of our community, we are here to support your
journey to success.
