The Veterans Resource Center at Governors State University is your partner on this journey. Our predominantly military-connected staff is here to help you navigate VA Education Benefits and institutional services for financial aid planning, academic counseling, career planning assistance, campus life such as cultural events and sports, and other support services. Our Program Director serves as your ombudsperson and Point of Contact for the specific needs of student veterans and their families including (but not limited to): The Tuition Assistance program, VR&E Educational Benefits, Veterans Affairs education benefits, Illinois State Veterans Benefits, and more.

 GovState is also a participating school with Air Force ROTC, and our staff represents military-connected student interests on regional, statewide and national associations and boards.;

The goal of our SVA Chapter is to use our combined skillsets to advocate for our student veteran community. Our chapter will instill a new purpose while in higher education. We want to empower military-connected students by fostering camaraderie that reflects our shared experiences through all branches of service.
