The Illinois Legislature Public Act 095-0881: The Campus Security Enhancement Act of 2008 and Governors State University recognized the need to assist university community members in stressful or threatening situations. Based on evidence and research into campus tragedies, GovState has decided to take a hands-on, holistic approach to ensure that tools are in place to reduce risks related to campus violence through the Campus Threat Assessment Team. To help in our efforts to ensure the safety of the campus community, please report all concerning behaviors that are potentially threatening, harmful to self or others, or disruptive to the university's mission.

Our Mission

The Campus Threat Assessment Team is committed to providing a safe conducive educational environment through identifying and assessing behaviors that are believed to be a threat to the safety and well-being of the campus community.

How to Report a Campus Threat

A Campus Threat Assessment Report is completed by an individual (student, faculty, or staff member) who observes behaviors that may be potentially disruptive to the safety and well-being of the GovState community. The report is completed online and submitted to the Campus Threat Assessment Team. Fill out the Campus Threat Assessment Reporting Form here. To report life-threatening or immediate danger situations please call the Department of Public Safety at 534.4900 or dial 911.
