The Chicago Southland International Film Festival enriches a long tradition of a vibrant arts and cultures community that exists at Governors State University.
The Chicago Southland International Film Festival (CSIFF) exists to propel “reel” stories forward and provide a platform for independent filmmakers with diverse perspectives to share their work and grow in their craft.
The Chicago Southland International Film Festival is a film festival located in University Park, IL and hosted by Governors State University. With core values of inclusiveness, diversity and promoting quality of life, we value an atmosphere that fosters a capacity to enjoy life through the fine arts and humanities. CSIFF offers Chicagoland residents an opportunity to see a collection of diverse films from professional to amateur to high school filmmakers from around the world. Set amidst the beautiful, art-abundant campus, this event serves as a
stimulating opportunity to share and promote the vibrant arts and cultures
community that exists at Governors State University.
The Chicago Southland International Film Festival is excited to enter its fifth year. CSIFF 2022 will continue the Feature Film Showcase (non-competition) consisting of feature film screenings and an international short film competition.
The Feature Film Showcase is a community-wide film screening and discussion event in celebration of independent filmmakers. The films are hand-picked by CSIFF committee members and provides filmmakers with a public performance and the opportunity to participate in facilitated post screening Q&A sessions with a diverse audience. Each film will be followed by either a live Q & A with the filmmaker or a prerecorded interview about the film. CSIFF defines feature film as at least 60 minutes in length.
This category accepts submissions by invite only and requires a password. Priority is given to filmmakers with a connection to the greater Chicagoland region. Feel free to contact us at email@example.com with questions.
The Short Film Competition includes selected short films submitted by filmmakers from across the globe. Categories include a plethora of genres from high school, collegiate, and professional filmmakers. CSIFF defines short films as 30 minutes or less in length.
This festival is funded in part by an Intellectual Life Grant provided by Governors State University’s Library and the Intellectual Life Grant Committee.
