Updated Student Email Address and Login Changes – Coming Soon

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be embarking on another important project this holiday break. The ITS team will be replacing the current STUDENT email address ending with @student.govst.edu with a new STUDENT email address ending with @govst.edu. With the new change, students and employees will have the same email extension, @govst.edu.

EXAMPLE

As you can see the word “student” has been removed which makes the new email address shorter.

Note: Jax’s username did NOT change, it remains jjaguar.

Benefits

  • Improve university-wide collaboration – sharing files in OneDrive.
  • Full functionality with Microsoft Teams is the best perk. Microsoft Teams is a collaboration space that includes threaded chats, file sharing, and video conferencing.
  • Enhanced security with Multi Factor Authentication (future project in 2025).

Important Information

  • Students’ current OneDrive data will be moved to their new email account.
  • Students’ emails (Inbox, draft, sent box and any folders) will be migrated to their new email account too.
  • This change will be taking place December 20 - 21, 2024. Please refrain from using your @student.govst.edu account during that timeframe.
  • This will be your new login for all GovState applications that require you to use your GovState email address. Other applications that require GovState username will not be affected. The names of the applications will be provided in future announcements.

Please continue to check this webpage regularly as new frequently asked questions are added. If you have any concerns or questions, please submit them to New Student Email Address and Login Changes Questionnaire. ITS will respond to your question or concern.
