Ali Riza Demirbas, Ph.D., MSc, MSHA
Dr. Ali Riza Demirbas is an academic and
healthcare professional with experience in health services administration and
global health. He holds a Ph.D. in Administration-Health Services from the
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In addition, he holds a master’s
degree in Global Health from Trinity College Dublin, and an MSc in Health
Management from Ankara University, reflecting his broad understanding of
healthcare systems and public health strategies across multiple countries.
Dr. Demirbas has been actively engaged in teaching
and research at several institutions, including UAB and the University of
Louisville. His teaching portfolio covers topics such as Organizational Theory
in Health Services, Healthcare Management, Healthcare Economics, and
Quantitative Decision Making in Healthcare.
His research interests encompass health technology
assessment, healthcare finance, strategic management, quality improvement, and
health disparities. Dr. Demirbas has presented his research at international
conferences and has published peer-reviewed articles in leading journals.
Beyond academia, Dr. Demirbas has held various
roles in healthcare organizations. He served as an Expert and Hospital Manager
within Turkey’s Ministry of Health, where he led procurement efforts, improved
hospital operations, and contributed to policy development. His international
experience includes consulting with the World Health Organization and collaborating
with the European Network for Health Technology Assessment (EuNetHTA).
Dr. Demirbas currently serves as an Assistant
Professor at Governors State University, where he contributes to the field of
health administration through his teaching, research, and service to the
academic community.
